TRT 1, 31 Ocak 1968'de TRT Ankara Televizyonun ilk deneme yayınına başlamasından, 6 Ekim 1986'da TRT 2'nin yayına başlamasına kadar tek Türkçe kanal olan TRT'nin adıdır. 1982'den itibaren kısmen, 1984'te ise tamamen renkli yayına geçmiştir.
